Hair High and Heels Higher

Sometimes heels just make sense.

So many summer days I just slip into my favorite flip flops (like I did here) and some days I just need a little pick-me-up.  Literally.  I need height.  I need for my legs to appear lengthier than they really are.

This was one of those days.

My first impulse was to throw on my old faithful flats but wait… STOP… I want something with sass!  Ever feel that way?  So I poofed my hair up higher than normal and I grabbed my gladiator heels {oh how I love these sandals! especially with distressed denim}.  But I’ve been waiting for the right day to try out my new blue Aztec shift dress.  Well, technically it’s not a true shift dress but the shape feels like it should be one.  All except it has an elastic low-riding waist band.  If I could change one thing about this dress, it would be that.  But oh well, you can’t win ‘em all.  I feel like a southern belle; hair high and heels even higher.

Now off to shop our local boutiques!  I’m ready to tower over all who come near.  And to my surprise… my normally high-heeled-friend, Cate, just happened to be in flats so I really felt like an amazon.  Man, I have to be honest, it didn’t suck.  ;-)
