Titus has done it again.
Remember when Cate got her table last fall? So beautiful, right? I knew I had to have one!
The idea of gathering my family ’round a table built especially for us sounded so amazing. I knew as soon as we moved into our new house, we needed Titus to come to our dining rescue.
Our informal dining area is a walk-through. People walk from our kitchen and hallway past the dining table into the living room. A big rectangular farm table wouldn’t work for us. It’s not what I’d envisioned for the space, anyway.
Jason and I both had romantic ideas of a big ol’ round family table. How cool would that be?! We asked Titus for the largest round table he could build us. Even though Titus explained that round was unchartered territory for him, we trusted in his skills and settled on a 72 inch pedestal table.
Titus invited us over to his workshop to pick out the poly-finish. It was exciting to see the work in progress! We went with the matte finish.
The day came when our Titus Ray Marshall table came home! We couldn’t love it more. Every dent. Every old nail hole. Each and every handpicked board gives our family table loads of personality. It’s a conversation piece. It’s a special part of our state’s history that we get to share in forever.
Even more special~ the pedestal of the table is from one of my good friend’s family farm! It was a complete coincidence… neither one of us had any idea until Titus told me where the barnwood came from! He didn’t even know we knew each other! Crazy small world right? I couldn’t believe it. So special.
Now, what should we do for chairs?! Simple farm house, cool metal cafe, overstuffed fabric, or leather chairs… Humm?
